Filthy DIY sofa September 1, 2010

I am very unhappy with this purchase, for the following reasons. As the other reviewer stated, this product is NOT white, the photo is simply incorrect. At best, the lighter leather could be called bone or antique white. If you staged a photo with a very cool light, you might be able to pull out white, but it will NOT look white in your home. Unlike the photo, the "cow" pillows clash with the leather and make it look dingy in comparison.

Secondly, I contacted the seller about the shipping policy and was misinformed. The shipping company would not arrange to have the furniture delivered inside "for liability reasons". The seller had stated that I could arrange for inside delivery with the shipping company. That was simply not the case. I will remind the reader that this item is over 300lbs.

Thirdly, the product is filthy upon arrival. We spent over an hour washing the legs, wiping the leather, etc. Some of the scuffs on the leather were permanent, at least as far as our abilities go.

Finally, and this is perhaps the most crucial. You must assemble the furniture. The legs do not come attached, and you will have to drill pilot holes and screw the legs into the frame of the furniture. There are not instructions of any kind, just a filthy bag of screws and legs.

So why two stars? Because it looks cool, seems fairly well constructed, and relatively inexpensive. Also, the seller was pretty responsive to inquiries. You'll pay about 15 percent of the cost of this item in shipping. All told, I would have rather spent this money on something of better quality. Not recommended, at all.

BEWARE. This is not large!! It is HUGHE!! This is not white!! It is Ivory or cream. White is the color of the cow pillows that come with the sofa. It is beautiful to look at. worthless to use. The seats are way too WIDE to sit on and way too HARD to lay on. It is for LOOKS ONLY. Would not buy again. However delivery was just a week and very good service. I will buy from Amazon again. Just not this product.
